Crazy Quilt Series, October 2006 - April 2007, 10 a.m. - noon
A monthly series of process and project oriented small crazy quilt projects. The focus is on learning/practicing simple embroidery stitches and combining them in new ways, while working on a small project that you can finish in class. Fun for beginners and the more experienced seamstress!
$12.00 per class, or $60.00 for the series. Check back for supply list for each class.
October 21
Make a felt Chrismas ornament
Make a Christmas stocking, mitten, heart, or star. Learn some simple embroidery for a fast project.
November 18
Make a Flat Angel
Make a small felt angel to protect you from sewing disasters, or use her to hold pins & needles. Learn some simple embroidery stitches and the use of yarns for embellishment
December - no class
January 20
Crazy quilt potluck
I will supply a small pre-pieced crazy quilt; each of us will choose two skeins of embroidery thread & throw them "in the pot". We'll cut the skeins so that everyone gets a piece, and then start embellishing the crazy quilts. Learn some more embroidery stitches and get lots of ideas on combining stitches.
February 17
Two-part class, make a felt background, then embellish it
Martin Miller will us how to wet felt a background. Next session will be to embellish the felt you make today.

March 17
Embellish your felt with a variety of threads and stitches and make a landscape scene (or scene of your choice)
April 21
Last class! Bring your finished (or not) projects to share, and make a pin or magnet using a covered button form, using simple embroidery stitches.
