- Traditionally, crazy quilts do not have an inner layer of batting, but it’s up to you to decide if you want that poofiness of batting or you want a flatter quilt
- Choose your backing; I often choose a plain muslin backing
- Do you want the backing to contrast with, or complement, the quilt?
- Now you want to bind the quilt
- commercial bias tape
- fold the backing fabric to the front, or have a wide binding on the front and fold that to the back and let that frame the quilt
