Emerald Lake. While only a few minutes from Homer, this lake offers views of nearby Grewinck Glacier. Grewinck Glacier Lake, is at the base of the glacier. Landing here is somewhat challenging and not something you will get to do in anyplace but Alaska. Hazel Lake, is name after the long time lady Mayor of Homer, Hazel Heath. This super-blue lake is hundreds of feet deep. While one shore is a gravel beach, another is a shear rock cliff. Mike McBrides famous lodge is at one end China-Poot Lake takes its name from nearby Poot's Peak. Named after Henry "China" Poot who was a miner around here in the late 1800s. This lake has 450 foot stone cliffs protecting her beauty . Beluga Lake. This is our seaplane base in down-town Homer, Alaska. It is an easy drive or walk to a couple restaurants and large enough to provide some nice training Rocky Lake. This lake is a stones throw from the gulf of Alaska. There are some nice little islands to taxi between and fish jump during most visits. Loon Lake: This small lake is visited during the last phase of training. It is very small and there is only one way out. . Caribou Lake: This is a large shallow lake suitable for high speed step taxi work and usually is good for glassy water landings. |
