Class Instructor - Biography
Edie Barbour

I have been sewing and embroidering since I was in elementary school. My mother is an expert seamstress and I would use her scraps to make clothes for my dolls. I detested the sewing machine, and did all my sewing by hand. In the late 60's (high school), I began embroidering my clothes in the hippie style of the day. Over the years I have embroidered almost any kind of fabric I could get a needle and thread through. My formal training consists of a print making class at UAF, some quilting workshops (none on crazy quilting though), and a Cooperative Extension "Master Sewer" course (covering clothing construction techniques). I really enjoy the rhythmic flow of handsewing and find it very relaxing. I love teaching the crazy quilt classes and hope you will enjoy them as much as I do.
