- Now it’s time to get out your button collection; hopefully it includes some or all of the following: (and include images!)
- old earrings
- seashells
- seed beads
- Crackerjack prizes
- rubber lizards
- fluorescent stars
- small kids’ toys
- just about anything light enough to sew onto your quilt
- Pick through your ribbons, bias tapes, embroidered tapes, lace scraps, and start laying them next to the scraps on your quilt
- Use the embellishments to enhance the purpose of the quilt
- Sew your embellishments with cotton/polyester thread or use embroidery thread, if it’ll show
- In case of spills, keep the beads you're currently working with in a small box or bottle
