The Esro Road Association accomplished a number of substantive maintenance items last summer - surfacing, ditching, and in the winter, snow and ice removal, and brush removal as we have done in recent years. Winter road maintenance was $2500 last year and summer road improvements were just over $13,000. We resurfaced a couple of needy sections of the road, ditched some areas lacking in proper drainage, and several culverts were installed or repaired. We are getting bids for additional work this year.

A substantial amount of road work was accomplished this summer. We began applying D-1 topcoat at the beginning of the road (est. 300'), brushed nearly all of either side of the road where clearance was available, improved ditching and drainage along the first mile of the road, uncovered several blocked culverts and repaired and increased drainage from the culvert at Ruby Creek. More is to be done in subsequent years with over a decade of deferred maintenance. The Esro Road Association is prioritizing on those repairs and maintenance work which will make the road functionally acceptable for the residents and users of the road, including GCI, school bus, mail and newspaper delivery services.
