5. Membership Check-in: Jim is not able to be here.

6. Newsletter Report: Send newsletter-worthy items to Lynn for the newsletter. He will get a newsletter out soon to include the Annual Meeting, the Dance Camp Boosters Ball, call for new board members, summer schedule (??) , Dance Camp basic info (+application ??), mirrors and changes at the hall, folk festivals, upcoming Larry Unger workshop, and whatever else there is.

7. Dance master Check-in: Steve was not able to be here.

8. Webmaster tells all: Gary is not able to come (getting ready for his big trip to Costa Rica.)

9. Publicity Report: Barbara has nothing new to report.

10. Scheduler's Report: John was not able to be here. Barbara contacted the Zimmermans earlier and they are calling the Swing Dance. Sue called them during the meeting to re-confirm that they will be able to come and they said yes, they were planning on it. Sue arranged with Ballroom folks here during the meeting to use their sound system and music. The summer schedule should be in progress soon. Dates listed on the hall schedule are: Friday June 3, Saturday July 16, and Friday August 5.

11. Corporation Report: Marty went to the last meeting. Clubs gave their reports. We continue to have lots of teens at our dances. The mirrors are up and the new 4' x 8' folding podium was supposed to be shipped March 11. The old podium will go away. Plans are to paint the exterior of the hall this summer. Lynn will see Chuck Carpenter at sauna to talk to him about being on the building committee. Sue will try to call Chuck.

12. Student Rep Report: Brad was not able to be here.

13. Anything Else? 1.) Bashams will be hosting a house dance and potluck to promote new volunteers for dance camp at their house on Friday April 22, the Dance Camp Boosters Ball. Lynn will arrange for the band as it is at his house. We approved $150 from our treasury to pay the band.

2.) Charley is working on having Larry Unger to come for a fall special event. Larry will be in Anchorage on Oct 21 and 22 and maybe other parts of the state, so we should be able to share airfares. He will come to Fairbanks for Oct 28, 29 and 30. Larry is a composer and guitarist. He will be bringing Eden McCadam who fiddles and sings. Ideas include a dance, concert, workshops, artist in the schools. We gave Charley permission to work with Trudy on the concert. We discussed whether to have activities at the hall or out at Chena Hot Springs (no decision made.) We said OK to having Kari Lundgren come from Sitka to call.

3.) Tom, a dancer, talked to Marty about having music at the break during dances. We came to a consensus that that was fine, probably CDs. We need someone to coordinate this with the band of the evening.

4.) Isabelle notes that there is a wedding reception scheduled at the hall which wants to move from Sunday September 18 to our dance date of Saturday September 17. This would be a good time to schedule our yearly dance at Wood Center. Sue will check with Barbara to see if the UWA would like to sponsor us again or we could check with Doug Schamel and the Key Club.

Adjourned at 6:15PM.
