CONTRA BOREALIS DANCERS Board Meeting Minutes

April 24, 2007

1. Those present: Scott Luper, Alan and Barbara Braley, Jim Deininger, Colleen Herning, and Marty Baldridge, .

2. Time, Date, Place of next meeting: The next meeting will be the annual meeting at the break at the dance on May 19. We will decide then if the board wants to meet on Tuesday May 22 at 5:30 at the Hall.

3. Minutes: corrections? none

4.Treasurers Check-in: Alan thinks we broke even between the last two dances..

5. Membership Check-in: Jim has nothing new to report.

6. Newsletter Report: Lynn was not able to be here. He will put out a newsletter which has the summer schedule and dance camp info.

7. Dance master Check-in: We need a new dancemaster. We will brainstorm ideas for people to ask before the annual meeting.

8. Webmaster tells all: John is not able to be here. Marty will email him the summer schedule, with the change of the July dance from Saturday 21 to Friday 20 noted, as well as the addition of the June 2 dance.

9. Publicity Report: Barbara has our dances listed in the usual places.

10. Scheduler's Report: Colleen changed our dance date in July to Friday July 20 to accommodate the Ballroom group's request for Sat July 21 for a Golden Days dance. Colleen had a request from Amy A. for a dance on June 2. The board agreed to sponsor it. Barbara will follow up with Isabelle on the details. She will forward to us an email from Isabelle regarding sponsorship of private parties vs. membership events. Private parties require a cleaning deposit and special insurance.

11. Corporation Report: Jim says the Corporation has one more meeting before they adjourn for the summer. The plan the annual Corporation meeting/dance showcase for Tuesday September 25. Marty suggested that more of us might participate on a weekend.

12. Special Events/ Summer Dance Camp 2007: The flyers are out. Thanks to Jim and Cynthia for a great job. Jim will take some flyers to the Anchorage dance camp at the end of May.

13. Anything Else ? Board members to Organize Cleanup: Barbara will organize cleanup on May 4 and Lynn on May 19.
