  • The Board: Filling slots and grooming replacements: Alan Braley came to express interest in taking over the treasurer’s spot. Stan suggested that Jim Deininger might be interested in filling in the Dancemaster slot, but he cannot make Thursday meetings. Alan has a computer and will talk to Dennis. Their e-mail addresses are: alan.braley@dot.state.ak.us & jim_deininger@ak.blm.gov .

  • 4. Treasurers Check-in: Dennis has handed over the box to Stan, but will help whomever replaces him.

  • 5. Membership Check-in: Some people paid the wrong amount for membership under the new rates.

  • 6. Webmaster tells all: Gary is putting the minutes on the website now and is also talking about putting the newsletter on it.

  • 7. Dance mistress Check-in: Holly is resigning, see above.

  • 8. Special Events: For the February 4th dance, we will need someone for the door because we will be collecting the money. It will be at the Wood Center Ballroom and will be part of the Fairbanks Winter Folk Fest Marty and Gary will try to work out something mutually agreeable so that the folkdancers can dance for an hour before the March 18th dance at Alaskaland. Susan Theirman wil be playing and she will not need sound. Gary will try to coordinate setting up the sound around the other event.

  • Frostfire filled in at the last minute for Rosie Creek for the 1/15 dance - Mike called them to arrange it. Thanks Frostfire.

  • 9. Publicity Report: Barbara has been having some problems with the News-Miner not putting in the dances after she has sent several faxes and e-mails. She will call them and try to resolve this, The radio stations are doing fine though.

  • 10. Corporation Report: Todd Paris went to the last meeting and reported that the Corporation is working on renewing the next longterm lease with Alaskaland. If so, they are talking about knocking out the back wall and adding another 10 feet. We now have a Sensaphone which checks on temperature and automatically calls various people. We only had Stan Read show up for the semi-annual cleanup but we were the only ones to pay the insurance so far. Think about a signup sheet for the cleanup in April.

  • 11. Student Rep Report: - no student rep present.

  • 12. Newsletter Report: We need to talk to Suzy about the newsletter’s progress and putting in the Dancing Bears Memorial Day Dance.
