5. Membership Check in: Stan says we currently have 135 members and gave out an updated list. We have had about 11 new local members since mid-Dec. The questions about insurance will surface again as out-of-town members join for summer Dance Camp. He passed along a list of dance-energizing activities from CDSS.
6. Webmaster tells all: Gary is not able to be here, due to classes every Wednesday and Thursday night for the Spring 2001 semester. He will send an e- reminder for the Wood Center Dance on 4-14.
7. Dance master Check-in: Jim has a summary from the last four dances, all
of which generated a loss:

July 21 at the Hall, plus the in-town dance on Thursday Aug 23 with KGB of Dance Camp. Suzy's Dance: The Board gave Suzy Fenner permission to have a potluck and dance at the end of June. She will check with Isabelle on dates and could add a silent auction to benefit Contra Borealis.
10. Publicity Report: It was suggested to have links to other groups, rather than doing direct advertising on our website; otherwise this opens us up to doing this for many other groups. This topic will be open for discussion at the May meeting. We are listed on Jo Scott's Summer Arts Festival page. Despite our efforts, our dances are not listed in the Sun Star, which would help in attracting students. Think about new places to put posters for the May meeting.
11. Corporation Report: Lynn relates that the Hall cleanup Day is May 5, from 9-12 noon. Alan should call Bill Mudd about the Contra Borealis non-p
12. Student Rep Report: Suzy introduced Britton Kerin, who will be taking over her spot as Student Rep. Welcome to Britton and many thanks and best wishes to Suzy They are working together on dance Sat. April 14 at Wood Center with Frostfire and Lynn. They plan another dance May 1, at Wood Center 7:30-9:30 P.M. co-sponsored by Key Club (advised by Doug Schamel) and have Wood Center reserved for a dance Sept 29.
13. Newsletter Report: Todd put together a newsletter for the last of March, but it wasn't enough information to be worth sending out. He needs news! In the next newsletter he will put out a call for a new scheduler as well as the dance schedule for April and May (including annual meeting), Summer Dances and Dance Camp news.
14. Scheduler's Report: Kathy will check with Brian DeMarcus about doing one of the summer dances and then ask local bands. 15. Anything else? Kathy and Stan presented a proposed budget for Dance Camp 2001, with comparisons from the 2000 proposed and actual budgets. The first Dance Camp meeting will be April 12, 5:30 P.M. at Alaska Coffee Roasters on Geist Rd. The Dance Camp brochure will go out to everyone at the same time, not just to members first (since Camp has not been full these last two years.) There will be a cancellation fee structure instituted similar to Dancing Bears. Marty will work on the t-shirt design; fewer styles of shirts will be offered this year to simplify the project. Anchorage folks may want to hire KGB on their way home, which could reduce our airfare costs.
Meeting adjourned at 6:56 P.M.
