4. Treasurer's Check-in: Alan brought us a dance budget summary. Generally we are losing a bit on each dance, for the 2001-2 year starting in June 01 we are behind $292. We have state non-profit status. Alan will check with Mike Walleri for help with the federal non-profit paperwork. We have our EIN and Alan is working to construct the accounting for previous years from records, which is information needed for the non-profit paperwork. Sue offered to help him. Alan estimates we have about $4000 in our bank account. It might help if the caller could announce partway through the dance that if anyone has missed paying at the door, they should.

5. Membership Check-in: Stan is not able to be here.

6. Webmaster tells all: Gary will send out an e-mail for the dance this weekend. He will check with the Fairbanks Folk Fest board to see if we can tie our June 7 dance to their event for added publicity.

7. Dance master Check-in: Jim is set for the rest of the year for door folks. He and Gary and Marty report that the 28th Alaska Folk Festival was great!

8. Folk Dance Report: Marty says that the folk dance on March 16 had 9 dancers and $25 forwarded to Contra Borealis. The last folk dance for the semester is 6:00-7:30 P.M. on April 20.

9. Special Events:

Ken reports that the English Dance at Wood Center on March 24 was attended by 28 people who had a wonderful time. He talked to Britton about the requirements for using Wood Center which may include current CPR certification and a door person. We need to find out exactly what their constraints are.

Dance Camp 2002: Elaine is not able to be here. We hope she is working on airfares and needs to call a Summer Dance Camp organizational meeting soon. Gary (for one) is interested in doing sound for the event.

10. Publicity Report: Barbara says Wood Center is closed on May 18 and so has arranged to use the Hall on May 4 from 7-11 PM for the belly dance group Hafla, to be sponsored by Contra Borealis. Barbara booked the Hall for the Friday night pre-Dance Camp dance on August 30, 2002 for Elaine.

11. Corporation Report: Lynn is not able to be here.

12. Student Rep Report: Britton is not able to be here.

13. Newsletter Report: Todd is not able to be here. Items for the newsletter include the following:

1.) An announcement for semi-annual Clean-Up Day on May 4, 9 AM-12 noon.
2.) A call for people for Dance Camp North organizational meeting and committees.
3.) Summer Schedule
4.) A person to purchase soda for sales at the Hall during contra dances
5.) A call for any persons interested in serving on the Board to be voted on at the General Meeting on May 18
6.) Annual Meeting Potluck and General Meeting (and dance to follow) May 18
Ken McFarland offered to do the newsletter starting this summer.

14. Scheduler's Report: Co-schedulers Susie and Scott are not able to be here. Marty will ask Susie to schedule summer dance dates, possibly on June 7 (maybe coordinated with the Fairbanks Summer Folk Fest) and on July 20. We will need to cancel our other usual dates at the hall if we only do two summer dances.
