3. Minutes: Corrections ? None
4.Treasurers Check-in: Alan gave us a full report listing our bank balance about the same as where we were last year (except that we have not yet paid for air tickets for Dance Camp caller and musicians.) For the year we are ahead $155 on dances. It might help dance masters to have a calculator in The Box and to count starting cash in The Box before each dance. This would help Alan track funds better.
5. Membership Check in: Stan has no new membership information.
6. Webmaster tells all: Gary updates the web site as he gets new info. He does get requests and has to weed through to see which are really of interest to us. He tries to include more general links under the www.alaskafolkmusic.org page and keep what we have more strictly related to contra dance.
7. Dance master Check-in: Jim is not able to be here, but reported in an e-mail to Marty that we had 61 dancers at the Tetrafiddles dance on May 4.
8. Folk Dance Report: Since Marty was in Juneau during the last dance, Heather forwarded funds to Contra Borealis; no numbers of dancers or money were reported.
9.Special Events :
10. Publicity Report: Barbara is not able to be here. Suzy offered to post flyers for Dance Camp on campus.
11. Corporation Report: Lynn is not able to be here. Since we are already registered with the IRS as a non-profit, Alan and Sue are working on the forms to file a report with the IRS and one for Bill Mudd of the Corporation.
12. Student Rep Report: Suzy is forwarding information to Britton, our new student representative. His e-mail address is fsblk@uaf.edu. The dance co-sponsored with Key Club at Wood Center on May 1 was a success. We have Wood Center is reserved for a dance Sept 29.
13. Newsletter Report: Thanks to Todd for the newsy April newsletter. The next one will come out in the Fall. His current e-mail address is parispub@gci.net.
14. Scheduler's Report: Thanks to Kathy for doing such a great job as our scheduler! She had indicated she was retiring from the board, having nearly completed the summer schedule.
15. Dance Camp North 2001: The next Dance Camp meeting will be May 16, 5:30 P.M. at Alaska Coffee Roasters on Geist Rd. The Dance Camp brochure was mailed out to around 211 people, current members plus some "expired " members. People who sign up will receive a postcard confirmation soon after. Kathy will check on software for button labels. KGB will go home by way of Anchorage, which should reduce our airfare costs. Kathy is working with Stan on this year's Dance Camp, but we will be looking for new help for 2002.
Meeting adjourned at 6:30 P.M.
