Annual Membership Fees
It hasn’t changed for over a decade, but due to increased cost of insurance, annual membership fees will go up. Also, student membership is extended to all students from 13 years and older, not just University of Alaska students. The old fee schedule is effective only for any renewals received or postmarked prior to Jan. 1, 2000.
The New Schedule
General Membership $15/year
Student Membership (13 years and older) $8/year
Under 13 no charge
Each dance entry remains at:
$5 non-members / $4 members
All students are $3 non-members / $2 members
No longer is the first dance free.
Other Stuff
Marty Baldridge is hosting an International Folk Dance on Sat. Dec. 18 from 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm at the Alaskaland Dance Hall.
Ken McFarland is putting together an English/Scottish Country dance series at the North Star Ballet, beginning mid January 2000 from 8 pm – 10 pm.
The next Contra Borealis Board meeting will be Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000 at Alaskaland.
Summer Dance Camp 2000 at Lost Lake will be held at Lost Lake Boy Scout Camp Aug. 11-13, 2000 with the Hillbillies from Mars and caller Kathy Anderson. We would have liked it the following week, but the camp was not available then.
