Located in SouthCentral Alaska, the area is home to 50,000 residents.  Considered "Alaska's Playground", the area is world famous for the fishing, hunting, and hiking opportunities it offers.  Situated on the Gulf of Alaska, the area contains many Nationally Protected Areas which include Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, Chugach National Forest, Katmai National Park, Kenai Fjords National Park, Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, and Lake Clark National Park.
