I originally arrived in Alaska in 1986 via the Air Force and I quickly fell in love with the place. In 1991 I was involuntarily transferred back stateside, and had to separate from the military in order to get myself back up here in 1998. The long drive up was done on pure faith – I didn’t have a job set nor did I know exactly where I would be living. Just three months after returning I was rewarded with the best job in my life. I now work for ACS (Alaska Communication Systems), which is the equivalent of Bellsouth in Alabama. It goes to show how much faith is blessed if we’re willing to give it a chance.

I married my bride Lora on April 1st 2001 and have a wonderful 13 year old son named Josh. We have a home up in the higher elevations where we’re treated to 24 hour daylight in the summer and the northern lights in the winter. We get to see the spectacular Alaska Range each day while traveling to and from work, and on the clearest days see beautiful Mt McKinley. For those that would like to see some of the area, I've made some photos and illustrations available thanks to other people that I have met. In October 2005 a photo of our home was posted on the web, and in July 2006 a picture of Josh and I was taken just a few miles north of Valdez.  There are also a picture series of Lora showing her loss of weight over a three year period.

About an average on once every 2 to 3 years I come to Birmingham to see relatives, and am shocked by how much the Center Point area changes each time. Surprisingly, the High School hasn’t changed much.
