Fairbanks came into existence in August of 1901,
When a man named Captain E.T. Barnette came to Alaska with the
idea of starting a trading post. Ship failure, being stranded, and
shallow waters could not stop. He persuaded another captain to
take him. up the Tanana and Chena Rivers. When the steamer could
make it no further up the shallow river, Barnette made his way
to a high spot in the riverbank, which later came to be known as
Fairbanks....
Our population over the decades.....

Alaska, and more specifically Fairbanks is known
for it's great variation, in temperatures. In the winter, temperatures
can be as low as 60-70 below zero. However, the summers here,
with our 20+ hours of beautiful sunshine, and weather ranging
between 60-100 above more than make up for it!
One of Alaska's most known and beautiful natural
attractions, the northern lights, grace our skies for most of
the year. However they are most visible between the months of
November
- February, since the skies get considerably darker.
