| I am not a
member of any special interest group. I will
work as your INDEPENDENT Director to keep
Chugach Electric INDEPENDENT!
Since the current Board majority
seized control, there has been an unprecedented
number of executive sessions and the exempting
of Directors from compliance with the
Confidentiality Policy. This means hidden
agendas, unrest and takeovers!
Safe, reliable, low cost
power now and for the future is my goal. In
our position as the largest and most efficient
supplier of electrical power, our Association
must work with the other major Generation and
Transmission utilities in the planning and
building of new facilities. The advantages of
economics of scale and lower risk mean lower
cost. Reliable, low cost power is necessary for
our economy, schools, businesses, young families
and long-term members who are on fixed incomes.
In my service on the Board, I
have:
- Reduced Capital
Expenditures to manageable levels
- Insisted on continuous
productivity improvement
- Supported increased
under-grounding of lines
- Advocated for wind power
I was elected Chairman and
Treasurer, plus served on the Operations, Audit,
and Finance committees as well as the Board
liaison to the Bylaws Committee.
