Halibut |
The largest game fish in the North Pacific. The average catch is 40
pounds, while 100 pounders are common.
In 1987 a huge Halibut weighing 460 pounds was taken in these waters. Halibut can be
caught year-round.
King Salmon |
In May the mighty King Salmon begins to run in the waters of Cook Inlet.
The average King taken weighs 45 pounds, and
each season 90 pound fish are caught. the Kings have two runs and the season lasts until
the end of July.
Silver Salmon |
The Silver Salmon arrives in Cook Inlet during the early part of August
and are abundant through October.
They are ferocious fighters and provide some of the most exciting sport fishing
experiences.
Silvers average 10-12 pounds, with trophy fish running up to 20 pounds.
