Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ's

1. How can I place an order?
If you live in the Fairbanks, Alaska, USA area, please call me directly at 456.3060 to inquire about a specific product.

2. If I don't live in the immediate Fairbanks, Alaska area, how do I place an order?
These orders can still be placed via phone calls, fax machine; or order-form email attachments.

3. How do I get started in placing an order?
Take a look at the pages on the left and pick something you might be interested in.
Then email me at ravens.ruff.stuff@gmail.com or call me at 907.456.3060 with the product you are interested in.
I can fill out a form for you over the phone if you are sure of your exact measurements.
If you don't know your exact measurements, then please print out the measurements chart form; take it to your local tailor; have them fill out the form, and then fax the form back to me at the following fax number: 1.907.456.3065.

4. How can I be sure that my measurements are the exact size that I need for my product?
If you are ordering a kuspuk, parka, or hat, I made a muslin mockup of your product based on your specific measurements. After the muslin mockup is made, I ship it back with pins for further alterations, (i.e. sleeve length; bust/chest msmts; etc.). Then the muslin mockup is mailed back to me and I make the secondary alterations, and remail it back to you for a final fitting. After you are satisfied with the alterations, I begin work on the real product.

5. How can I be sure that my measurements are the exact size for the hats?
For sourdough and trapper hats, I ask that hat measurements are taken with a homemade paper ruler that measures the circumference around the mid-forehead. I also ask the customer to have a take an adjustable baseball cap measurement and mail it to me with the exact size pinned with a safety pin. This way I have the approximate head measurement. Then mail me back the requested items.

6. How can I be sure that my measurements are the exact size for the footwear?
For mukluks and moccasin slippers, I ask that the customer put on a pair of heavy wool socks, then on two separate pieces of paper, trace each foot individually, marking the foot as either right or left. Then postal mail me back the left and right foot trace patterns. This is done to ensure an accurate measurement.

7. What is the minimum payment requirements?
I require at least 50% of the total cost of each product ordered before I can fulfill an order. I have to do it this way since I have to go to the local retail merchants and pay for the materials ahead of time to get each product order started. The materials I am referring to may include the following: inner Jencelite shell lining; outer fabric shell material; fur pelts to make fur ruffs; ribbon trim; zipper; thread; moosehide, etc.

8. When is final payment due?
Once I am 90% done with the product, I will email you a picture of the product, along with an invoice for the balance due and postage/shipping charges due. You can then mail me a check or cashier's check payable to: Terry Coral Echo-Hawk. After the check clears I will ship the item, insured to your specific address. I apologize ahead of time, my bank no longer accepts postal money orders due to counterfeiting. I apologize for this inconvenience in advance.

9. What are the shipping costs specifications?
Please note that shipping is NOT included in the price. I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and shipping from here is very costly. After payment is cleared I will ship the product as certified return/registered mail and insured. Please note that the customer or their representative's signature on certified mail certifys that the product was safely delivered.

10. What is custom-fitted, custom-sized and custom made specify?
Custom-fitted/custom-fittedmeans that each product is made according to your specific measurements for a custom fit.
Custom-made means that the product is made only from the types of materials and furs per your request. Every product that I make is unique to the customers request. All products are hand-cut; serged; and sewn to fit the customer's specified needs. Each product is soley unique to them. No two products are exactly alike, since merchant inventories change constantly. You design your own product! What fun!

11. What is the cost of each item?
This depends greatly on the specific item ordered, and the current retail costs from local merchants. I am working on developing a BASELINE product list but please be aware that prices will change without notice. This will serve only as a general estimate until I go to see the local vendors for more exact prices. When I receive an exact estimate I will fax or email you the materials price list and we can go from there. Fur and fabric costs vary greatly depending on your needs. Please keep this in mind when ordering. We can work with multiple estimates for cost variations.
