Bulletin Board

December, 2001 - Many additions after a year's hiatus.   Four essays by Beatriz ("Jalapa", "My religious Development", "Katie's Childhood", and "Christmas in Mexico and England").  Additional photos were added to many of the essays - many of Uayalceh in 1920 collected into a new web page.  Also a new page for Pilar Peón and Maria Christina de Regil.

January, 2001 - Added a third chapter of Paul Gleadell's memoirs, stories of his aunts and uncles.  Also began to update some pages with sidebar notes on who married who, who was who's child, and when.  So far I've revised "My Great-Aunt Felipa" and "Tia Carlota." The information was supplied by Maritza Arrigunaga of the University of Texas in Arlington.

A second chapter of Paul Gleadell's memoirs, on his life as a boy in Yucatán, was added in November 2000.  The essays "Encarnacion" and "Dominga" were also added in November.

A link to "The Memoirs of Paul Gleadell" was added in July 2000. At that time only one chaper, "Stillwaters" - a biography of Paul's father - was posted to the web. In the next chapter to be added, Paul talks about his boyhood memories of Yucatán. The version of Paul Gleadell's memoirs that I have breaks off in 1932 as he leaves to join the British Army in India. If anyone has some of later chapters (Chapter 9 on) I would like to get a copy to eventually post to the web.

Several items were added to the page in early April 2000. These included a page of pictures from Petersburg, a picture from Manassas, a link to an essay on Don Simón Peón and the development of henequen haciendas in Yucatán, Jack Barber's Veracruz diary, and an addition of new material - recently found - to Beatriz's essay on Uayalceh.

Has anyone seen a copy of an essay by Beatriz called "My Brother Paul?" I've heard of it but I don't have a copy. If it is still available I'd like to post it.
